The syllabus

Three days, case selection to final restoration.

Day one builds the diagnostic and surgical foundations. Day two is placement. Day three takes you from healing through to the delivered restoration, all combining advanced lectures with hands-on training on pig jaws and surgical models.

You'll place implants on pig jaws. Not watch someone else do it.

Hands-on sessions run on pig jaws and surgical models, with multiple educators on the floor so you're guided through every step.

Dr. David Norcross

Headline educator · Implant surgeon

Dr Norcross headlines the Implant Roadmap and leads the surgical and restorative teaching across all three days, from case selection and planning through to placement, restoration and long-term maintenance of single implants.

Dr. Aodhan Docherty

Co-founder

A University of Sydney graduate with honours and a University Medal, and an alumnus of the Kois Academy. Dr Docherty completed a Graduate Diploma in Oral Implants at the University of Sydney and is an examiner of its postgraduate Oral Implant Diploma, and co-author of the Wiley-Blackwell textbook “Practical Procedures in Implant Dentistry”.

A Sydney-based clinician and educator with advanced postgraduate training in prosthodontics and periodontics, and a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. Dr Ashraf directs multiple advanced programmes and focuses on translating complex concepts into structured, clinically applicable systems.

Who is the Implant Roadmap 101 for?

General dentists who want to start placing implants, or add a predictable single-implant workflow. It's a foundational (101) programme, so you don't need prior implant experience, just a solid grounding in restorative dentistry.

How hands-on is it, really?

Genuinely hands-on across all three days, working on pig jaws and surgical models.

Day one: flap design, suturing and socket preservation.

Day two: the implant placement workshop, the osteotomy sequence and drilling, placing a single implant, checking primary stability, and fitting the cover screw or healing abutment, plus freehand and guided positioning exercises.

Day three: the restorative workflow, from second-stage and tissue development through to the final case-planning workshop.

Multiple educators are on the floor throughout.

What does the syllabus cover?

Three days that follow the full lifecycle of a single implant case.

Day one builds the diagnostic and surgical foundations: case selection, restorative planning, reading the CBCT, and flap design and tissue handling.

Day two is prosthetically driven placement: site preparation, implant selection, the osteotomy sequence, primary stability, and freehand versus guided placement.

Day three takes you from healing to the final restoration: soft-tissue profile and emergence, impressions, abutment and restoration selection, occlusion, complications and long-term maintenance.

It is a foundational (101) programme, so no prior implant experience is needed.

Is there CPD credit?

Yes. The course is CPD-aligned and you'll receive a certificate of attendance with CPD documentation.
